Lindsay is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC), and enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples. She received her B.A. in Sociology/Criminology from Ohio University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Thomas Wolfe Scholarship Award. She went on to earn her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland University’s Theological Seminary. She has experience working in both college counseling and private practice, and has treated a wide variety of concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, anger, posttraumatic stress, grief and loss, obsessive thinking/behaviors, abuse, ADD/ADHD, life transitions, eating disorders, sexual abuse, spiritual issues, issues with self-esteem and identity, and general feelings of misdirection.

She uses an eclectic mix of individualized interventions that include Cognitive forms of therapy and Positive Psychology, as well as Person-centered, Humanistic, Narrative, Existential, and Strength-based therapy techniques. Lindsay also incorporates psychodynamic elements, encouragement, hope instillation, and instruction in relaxation, mindfulness, and acceptance.

Lindsay’s approach to therapy is reflective of her strong belief in the inherent dignity and goodness of all people. As a result, she offers a holistic, integrative, trauma-informed approach to counseling. She believes the therapy process is a transformative wellness journey of courage and hope that positively changes both internal and external life experiences. Through increased self-awareness, improved coping skills, effective communication, and a better understanding of healthy interpersonal interaction, people can and do heal. Most importantly, Lindsay understands that the counseling relationship is paramount in the healing process, and treats every individual with acceptance, warmth, compassion, honesty, and respect.

In her free time, you will find Lindsay with her husband of 25 years, along with her three sons and two dogs. She also enjoys being with friends, traveling, reading, being with nature, and laughing!
